SENIOR PASTORS
Daniel and Yvonne Nuñez
Danny and Yvonne Nunez were married on June 1, 1968. They recently celebrated 52 years of marriage.

Danny was drafted and went into the army from 1969 to 1971.
In returning from the army in 1971 Danny attended Fuller Theological Seminary he received hiss AA Degree in Theological studies in 1975.
He lcontinued his biblical studies in Huntington California
for some time after.

Pastors Danny and Yvonne later developed H.E.M. (Hispanic Evangelistic Ministries).
Where he began to work with different churches around the Valley. H.E.M. began having Rallies and Outreaches in any and all parks, schools and churches that he could find.
Many lives were reached for the Lord during this time.

Danny was led to become a youth leader at one of the local Baptist churches in Glendale, AZ. As a youth leader he continued to bring various churches together no matter the denomination. Danny stated..
"I just want to reach souls for Jesus".

Pastors Danny and Yvonne were then called to become officers in the Salvation Army.
While in the Salvation Army, they developed Barrio Breakthru Ministries.
Barrio Breakthru Ministries continued to have concerts, outreaches, car shows and rallies
in large scale where Thousands were reached for the Lord.

Pastor Danny also started the radio ministry "Barrio Breakthru Jams". At one point the
program was on the air every weekend for 6 hrs a night. The radio ministry reached into
the prisons and jail systems throughout Arizona. "Barrio Breakthru Jams" began receiving mail which grew to 100's of letters a week.
The letters contained testimonies, poems and shout outs for family and
friends which were read on the air.
Occasionally inmates/ prisoners would send arts and craft pieces that they hand personally hand crafted for Barrio Breakthru Jams.

The Pastors left the Salvation Army in 2002 after 14 years of service. They continue serving the Lord with
Barrio Breakthru Ministries.
​
Despite the fact that Pastor Danny had a stroke in Oct. of 2019 and is still recovering. The ministry is still going strong with the help of his children, family and congregation who are supporting the ministry to move forward.
